When you have a scene where you're describing your character's disturbing nightmares, write the scene during the day, not at 3am. Now I'm never going to get to sleep, and yes, all my lights are on.
Lol. I simultaneously love and hate when I write scenes like that. I love giving myself the chills and creating a mood so believable that I scare myself but then I always creep myself out.
Dear Melissa, Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! I really appreciate your encouraging comments, and that you saw what I was trying to do with the nightstalker background. Regarding this post... one of the reasons I had cats when I was single was that I knew they were nocturnal, so if I *did* hear a noise at night I could assume it was "just one of the cats." But I guess that's only if you're used to it! Best wishes, Christine

ReplyDeleteThe worst thing was, my foster cats kept making noises downstairs and I'd be like, "Aaaah! What was that?"
